Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii is a game for the Nintendo Wii, scheduled for release in April of 2008 in Japan (April 20th to be exact), and sometime soon afterwards in the US. It is the 8th in a series of Mario Kart Games, and will be moving back towards single driver gameplay, unlike Mario Kart: Double Dash for the Nintendo Gamecube.
Not too many details have made their way to the surface as of yet, but some sources have started confirming playable drivers, as well as courses from the game. It is also known that players will have the option to ride bikes instead of karts, although it’s not entirely clear to what extent this will effect gameplay. Mid-air tricks and wheelies can be performed on the bikes, but tricks may be possible on karts as well. Performing a trick will give players speed boosts.
There will be a total of 32 different courses, 16 of which are remakes.
Players may choose to play as their Mii character.
Online gameplay will also be available on Mario Kart Wii, with features such as Online World Rankings, local rankings, and the ability to upload and download ghosts.
Also, a wheel cradle for the Wii-mote will be available to provide a nicer, more conventional driving experience.
