• Hidden Green Stars - Unlocks Planet of Trials with 3 brand new galaxies
• Hidden Red Star - Unlocks Red Stars all around the main lobby, which serve as a power-up that allows Mario to Fly
• Play As Luigi - Play through the entire game as Luigi
• 121 Stars - There are actually 121 stars in the game. In order to get the final star, you’ll need to unlock the “Grand Finale Galaxy” which returns you to the Star Festival. Collect the 100 Purple coins to get the final star in the game. Note that you must have unlocked the other 120 stars in the game playing as Luigi first. (Video)
• 1-Up Galore - There are lots of 1-Ups hidden around the lobby area that you can easily stock up on before playing difficult levels.  This is really useful considering your lives don’t carry over whenever you turn off Super Mario Galaxy (you only start with about 5 lives each time you play).  Some of the 1-Ups are only accessible after finding the Red Star (ie: The one at the very top of the ship).
